Candles of the Four Elements
|
The very first magick candles Infinite Flame created was a set
of four to be used at each direction to call the quarters when casting
a circle. The colors were easy enough to decide upon, the scents
a little harder for the Air and Water ones. What makes this set
truly unique is that two are gel wax and two are solid wax. Earth
had to be solid and ball shaped. Water had to be blue gel and Air
clear gel. To balance that left Fire as a solid.
Created and empowered to align with each direction, not to any
specific being or entity. You can use them whether you call the
Guardians, Elementals, the direction itself, or anything else.

Dark deep brown like the richest soil, Earth features a teardrop shaped
peridot. Scented with a combination of pine (pinus species)
and patchouli (pogostemon cablin) essential oils to bring a
touch of the forest to the blend of scents created by this set.

"We add glitter but color naught, to spark clear intuitive thought"*
The scent for Air is bergamot (citrus bergamia) which is a
citrus oil. Instead of a stone, a feather is included in the set for
this candle.
*from the empowering spell for this set.

The ball of Fire is scented with cinnamon bark oil (cinnamomum
zeylanicum) and clove oil (eugenia caryophyllata) then
colored a bright red. A Fire Opal Swarovski crystal has orange and
red colors that seem to move within the crystal. The crystal is centered
on the candle and looks great in the candlelight.

Water is blue colored gel (duh!) with a sea shell from a Florida Gulf
Coast beach. The scent is palmarosa (cymbopogon martini), a
new oil to me but one that many references assure me is a watery scent.
This jar has lines running up to the fancy fluted top, a very romantic
holder for the element of feelings.
